The main function of the TRIP/CONVERT software package is to read the data in the DTU/VMU and provide reports. Trip data may be summarised and analysed on-screen prior to the production of a hard copy.

The software is menu-driven and both intelligent and user friendly. On-screen analysis is facilitated by the use of pop-up windows, help screens and error messages. The "Convert" portion of the TRIP/CONVERT software provides an ASCII format file of the raw trip data for those customers who wish to analyze and/or create reports in other formats by using spreadsheet or other application software.

The on-screen Linear Tachograph Report permits the examination of a complete trip in graphical format. The incorporated zoom capability allows the inspection of any trip segment down to one hour.

The report package provided by Trip/Convert incorporates the following reports: 

• Log book
• Activity summaries (by driver/by vehicle)
• Trip profiles
• Input data
• Violation and event reports
• Linear tachograph
• Histograms of speed/RPM/stop-time
