Data Transfer Unit

The Data Transfer Unit (DTU) is a portable unit with a LED display and a 17 key membrane keyboard interface. Its primary functions are Data Collection, Storage and Dumping to an off-line computer of up to 64 VMU reads. Beside these functions, the DTU allows programmed parameters to be viewed and provides password protected modification of programed VMU parameters.

The features of the DTU are: 

• Molded plastic case with carrying strap
• Retractable coiled connection cable
• 10 seven-segment display indicators
• LED status indicators
• Audio and visual indications of reading or dumping data
• 17-key membrane keyboard
• Three operating modes:  View, Read, Programming VMU parameters
• Up to 64 VMU reads

Data Transfer Module

The Data Transfer Module (DTM) was designed to provide an alternate method of transferring data from the Vehicle Mounted Unit (VMU) to the office computer. This method is especially suitable for small fleets (1 to 5 vehicles) that can not justify the cost of a DTU. This unit can only store the data of one VMU at a time.

The features of the DTM are: 

• Pocket size, light weight cartridge
• LED indicator for cartridge full/empty
• Single vehicle reader
• Battery backed clock
